Early Years Foundation Stage
You may have heard that the Early Years Foundation Stage comes in to force in September 2008.
The great news is that because at Norton Pre-School we already feel
that young children learn best through play with activities they are
interested in and that are fun there will be very little changes.
If you are interested in knowing more about the Early Years Foundation Stage please ask at the Pre-School for a leaflet.

Painted Ladies makeover Norton Pre-School
Ladies, tots and a lick of paint

Sharks, pirates and colourful creatures
now live at Norton Pre-School, thanks to a makeover by Painted Ladies decorating
firm.
Vanessa Westland, managing director of the
Bury St Edmunds-based firm, and her team of women decorators, were called in
when the pre-fabricated play centre started to look tired and dull. She
said: "The transformation has been incredible. I am so proud of the girls – the
school looks fantastic."
Using tins of paint donated by the firm's other
clients, Lucy Whomes, Sarah Dawson and Freya Partridge breathed new life into
the building, covering the formerly plain walls with multi-coloured stripes,
monkeys, giraffes and butterflies.
Now, pupils at the pre-school, which
caters for two to five year-olds, are making friends with pictures of fish,
aeroplanes, cats and dogs which adorn the walls.
Anne Gladwish,
pre-school manager, said she was thrilled with the exciting new look, which has
proved a hit with toddlers. She said: "The hall has been absolutely
transformed, the children couldn't have asked for anything better. There are so
many different colours and everywhere you look there are different faces." |
